| Throughout the years, David has consistently experimented with different formats as a way to achieve brilliant clarity and exacting detail in his photography. Starting with an inexpensive single lens reflex camera, David graduated to medium format in 1989, then to a 4x5 format, and recently to cutting edge 11 mega-pixel digital format. The clarity of color and exactness of detail in his photography rivals images produced by large format 4X5 landscape cameras. “Shooting photography requires absolute concentration,” David states. “I find that I am completely absorbed in the process, and as remote as possible from the stress and demands of my business life. When I am behind the camera, my attention is totally focused on the image, the exposure and the details of the scene.” David has participated in numerous photography workshops worldwide, organized by Joe Englander of Englander Photography. Mr. Englander received his training from the legendary Ansel Adams. In addition to workshops in National Parks, Santa Fe and Taos, David has also produced a dramatic series of Texas wildflowers and the Redwood of Northern California. His international workshops have included photography shoots in Alaska, Italy, Ireland, Portugal and Norway. David's photo "Woman Knitting in the Corner" won first place in the category of color photography in the Rowayton Art Association Juried Show in 2000. His photography was accepted in juried shows at the Mystic Art Association and The New Canaan Arts Center, where he earned second place for color in each show. David has participated in the Westport Downtown Merchants Art Show and in shows with the Ridgefield Arts Center, has had a one-man show at the former home of the Westport Arts Center, and his work has appeared in Forbes Magazine. He has also exhibited his work at the Norwalk Art Gallery in a show titled “Transcending Time,” where he displayed over 40 photographs of his national and international travels. In February 2004, four of his black and white images were displayed in a mixed media show at the Westport Arts Center, featuring the artist Wolf Kahn. In March 2005, David had a one-person show at the Westport Public Library featuring images from Maine and Colorado taken in 2004. He also had a show at the Westport Arts Center in July 2005 featuring images from Italy. David lives in Westport, Connecticut with his family.
